How can we help you?
Where is my data stored?
In OfficeTime, choose File-Show File… to see your file.
If that’s not possible, your data is normally in the OfficeTime support folder.
Data File
All versions of OfficeTime keep a data file which is normally called OfficeTime Data.otd unless you renamed it. By default it lives in the OfficeTime support folder. If you used OfficeTime Version 1 or you moved it, it may in a different location like Documents or Documents/OfficeTime
Backups
OfficeTime normally backups up your data. Choose File->Show Backups menu to locate them.
You can see the backups manually
Mac Go to the OfficeTime support folder
Windows Go to Documents/OfficeTime
iPhone/iPad Go to Settings, Restore From Backup
Cloud sync
Your data is stored in 4 places:
- As a database file .dat file in the OfficeTime support folder.
- As a data file ending in .otd per above.
- As backups per above.
- In the cloud. You just need to sign in on any device.
Finding lost data files
Mac
Go to the Finder, select File->Find menuĀ Then type
.otd
To find more files, click the little + button in the upper right and then on the left where it says Kind is Any, change it to System Files -> Are Included. You may have to choose Other first to enable that option.
Windows
Go to the Start bar and in the search field type
ext:.otd
(Note the colon then period)
Finding your last used data file
OfficeTime keeps a log of every file you use. You can open this in a text editor, scroll to the bottom, and look for a line that might look like this:
New file loaded. OfficeTime 2.0.594 Windows 10 Build 19043 (64 bit) C:\Users\mshannon\Documents\OfficeTime\OfficeTime Data.otd
The log file is called OfficeTime Sync Log.txt and you can find it in the OfficeTime support folder.
