Do I need to create an account to try it out?

No. Only if you want try out the new cloud sync.

Do I have to buy a subscription?

No! We made a version specifically for people who hate subscriptions called the Sunshine Edition (subscription and cloud free). It’s like software used to be in the good old days. Buy once and use forever. We’ll eventually release big upgrades to buy if you wish.

Why would I want cloud sync when I can do wifi sync?

Wifi sync is great because it keeps your data local and you don’t need a subscription

However with wifi sync, you need to have both the desktop and the mobile version open at the same time for it to be able to sync. You can also sync two or more desktop computers by putting the file on a shared drive but you need to remember to close one copy before opening the other.

On the other hand, you don’t have to remember anything for cloud sync. It just works.

Do I need to download the mobile version again?

No. If you already own the mobile version you don’t need to buy or download it again. It will continue to work with wifi sync and also supports cloud sync.

What’s new in version 2?

We redesigned OfficeTime to make it easier to both track and see where you and your team’s time is going. We focused on making life easier such as convenient grouping of projects by client and on giving you better access to your time through even more flexible reports. The new version also has numerous little things specifically designed for busy, distracted people. For example, if you forget to start a timer, you can start it retroactively.

Will I keep my data?

Yes, absolutely. All of your data is kept and backed up. (In fact, version 2 makes more comprehensive backups than ever.)

Can I go back?

Yes. It’s easy to change your mind. We’ve got a generous 100-day “any excuse” money back guarantee. You can explore at your leisure and go back, keeping all of your data.

Do I need to upgrade?

Frankly, no. But keep in mind we can no longer patch version 1. Changes by Apple or Microsoft could break OfficeTime, locking you out from your data.

Does the upgrade affect the iPhone/iPad Version?

The upgrade is for the Mac/PC version. Later we’ll release an upgraded mobile version which will be a paid upgrade or free if you have a subscription plan.

The existing mobile version works just fine with the new Mac/PC version and you can continue to wifi sync between them or choose to use the easier cloud sync.

But I liked the old version!

I’ve talked to people who loved the old version and didn’t want to upgrade. Now so many tell me they’d never go back because it’s easier to track and report their time.

    I purchased the new version but didn’t successfully download! Where is it?
    It got stuck on the “success” page.
    I’m on a mac, and I don’t understand if I have to buy again for my iPhone? It was so cheap and simple before!
