Invoice template placeholders
Many placeholders are already present in the default templates. You normally don’t need to edit these. Just change the look of the template to suit.
Here’s the full list
- [number] – Invoice Number
- [today] – Today’s Date
- [contactperson] – Client Contact Name
- [clientname] – Company
- [address]
- [city]
- [state]
- [zip]
- [projectname] – Name of the project being billed. If you are billing multiple projects to one client, all projects on your report will be listed.
- [job] – Project job number, if any. If you are billing multiple projects to one client, all project job numbers on your report will be listed.
- [fromdate] – The first day of time being invoiced
- [todate] – The last day of time being reported
- [timefees] – Total cost not including expenses or tax
- [expenses] – Total cost not including hourly rates or tax
- [total] – Total hourly and expenses not including tax
- [taxrate] – Tax Rate (e.g. “5%”)
- [taxrate2] – Tax rate for an optional second tax
- [totaltax] – The total of both taxes
- [tax] – The amount of sales or valued added tax
- [tax2] – The amount from the second rate
- [totaltime] – The total hours (and minutes)
- [totalplustax] – Total hourly and expenses and taxes
- [projectnotes] – Notes that you’ve made on the project as a whole. Different than session notes shown below.
Only the following placeholders will work correctly on the details line. The above placeholders will not work correctly here.
- [>] – The start of a row of details of time.
- [date] – The date of a session
- [starttime] – The time the session started
- [endtime] – The time the session ended (not including paused time)
- [hours] -The length of a session
- [rate] – Cost per hour
- [amount] – The cost of a session
- [category] – The category of a session
- [notes] – Any notes for that session
- [who] – The team member assigned to this session
- [initials] – Initials of the team member
- [<] – The end of a row of details of time.
