Editing the invoice template

How do I change the look of my invoices?

Invoices are template based. There’s a few default templates to choose from. Choose File->Make Invoice menu, then click the Show Templates button. Once you’ve found one that looks like a good foundation, click the Choose Template button back in OfficeTime.

By changing the format of the template you can change the look of your invoice. For instance, you can bold items, move the date, etc, insert your logo, etc. Select Edit Template from any Invoice window.

How do I save my company name and address?

Select Edit Template from the Invoice window. Add your information. When you come back to OfficeTime, all future invoices will contain your name and address.
You can also add a logo like this by copying and pasting it into the template.

I edited my invoice template and a placeholder no longer works

If you apply formatting to a placeholder such as [total], be sure to apply the formatting to the whole word including the [ and ]. If you apply it without formatting the [ and ] as well, the placeholder will no longer work. The easiest way to get it working again is to delete and retype the placeholder.

The currency symbol does not display correctly on my invoice

If you edit the invoice template some currencies such as the Euro symbol and Pound Sterling symbol may not display correctly if you accidentally change the encoding of the document.

To fix this:

Mac: Go to TextEdit. Do File–>Open. Choose Western from Encoding menu at bottom. Choose your invoice template. Save the file.

Windows: Open your invoice template in WordPad. Do Edit–>Select All. Do Format->Font. Under the script pop-up in the bottom right choose Western. Save the file.

Large numbers display funny on my invoice
