UPDATE: The contest is over and we’ve picked the winner via a random number chosen by computer.  Congratulations to Rob Bruce.  Enjoy your new Mini!

The new iPad Mini looks so yummy we couldn’t help but give one away.  And of course OfficeTime works beautifully on it.

What’s OfficeTime?

It’s a time & expense tracker for the iPad, iPhone, iPod, Mac & PC.  People tell us it’s easy, flexible and makes them money.

How do I enter to win an iPad Mini?

Easy.  Mention what you use OfficeTime for or what you think of it.  If you’re too lazy to do that, just share this contest on Twitter or Facebook.

You can enter for more than one of the above if you wish. (Double entries of the same kind don’t count though.) You can talk about either the Mac, PC, iPhone, iPod or iPad version.

What do I BLOG/VLOG about?

If you’re making a regular or video blog, here’s a guide on what to talk about. You can cover any or all points.

Why did you need a time-tracking app?

  1. Tell about your business or job position.
  2. Describe the reason you need to be able to track time.
  3. What did you need most in a time tracking app?
  4. How well did OfficeTime do for what you need.
  5. What OfficeTime features do you enjoy/use the most?
  6. Would would you recommend OfficeTime to others. Why?

Put your vlog up on YouTube and let us know about it or send us a link to your blog post.

Anything else?

Our contest ends Nov 30th!  We’ll announce the winner on our blog. (It’s a 32 GB WiFi iPad in your choice of black or white.) Thanks to the whole OfficeTime community for your awesome support!

(Our legal guys tell us to mention this contest is not sponsored or associated with Apple but you already knew that. Apple employees may enter the contest.)

UPDATE: Added links to nominate and review the Mac or PC version.

This is one of the most valuable software applications I have used in the past 20+ years. I only wish I had thought of using it when a FTE and not just when I turned freelance! Productivity, focus, accuracy, and commercial integrity have all increased dramatically since I bought this software. I may not use it on all my digital platforms, but it has to be the first thing I look at every workday!

I own a preschool and manage a staff of 5 teachers. Office Time just came through for me. I have it installed on my Mac & iPhone. Tried others but OT stood out.

I just purchased Office Time after having tried it out for a couple of weeks. It has made keeping track of my hours much, much easier. As a professional editor, I manage many clients’ work at once, and this program makes that simple to do. It’s designed very well, making it intuitive to use even for those, like me, who aren’t particularly technologically-inclined.

I use officetime to keep track of my real estate time and expenses, as well as miles driven for charitable organizations (church, school). I love that I can keep track of these thing on the go (on my iPhone) since I would forget by the time I got home. The product is reliable and support has responded to my questions quickly.

We’re in the process of revamping the site. Does the home page look better? http://www.officetime.net

We’ve got a big revamp coming for the Mac/PC side. It’s going to look quite smart.

    Hi,
I use OT a fair bit but i struggle with not being able to set up independent categories for each project. As a consultant providing a side variety of services in adventure tourism. i need more flexibility to customize each project.
I would also like to see a simpler invoicing template. the present set up seems awkward. Apple Templates for example are much easier to work with and so i wonder if these two areas have any plans for improvements?
I appreciate these are two points on the negative but that’s a compliment really in that the program works very well and i’m picking on details, not over all functionality, appearance or otherwise.
    thanks for listening.
    Doug.

      Hey Doug,

Per project categories are something we’re experimenting with. Just want to do it right.

And, yes, I’d love to see invoice templates improve. They’ve got lots of flexibility right now but I’d like to see them more integrated so you know what you’re getting sooner.

      Doug W,

I use QuickBooks for invoicing and am able to track classes in OfficeTime. The way I do it is to format my note field as follows:

      Class Name:SubClass|Note

When I open the OT export in Excel or OpenOffice I set the delimiters as {tab} and | so I get a separate field for Class

When I open the OT export in Excel or OpenOffice I set the delimiters as {tab} and | so I get a separate field for Class and Note. For projects that don’t use classes I start any note in OT with a “|” so that all notes end up in the correct column for my timer import file.

Hey Doug. Wow. That’s a brilliant work around. Would you email me at support@officetime.net. I’d like to find out more about this and see if there’s anything we can do to make this easier for you.

I use this program for my husband’s business to keep track of time that our boys have on the job each day. I can break down the reports to show how much each one has on the job. It has worked out really well.

We have used OfficeTime for about two years now. The first year we used it as a shadow to our old Timeslips billing. January 2012 we switched completely to OT and love it. We use TypeIt4Me for billing codes, and are able to do our entries and billing more efficiently than ever before. I had tried for years to find a worthy, and reasonably priced, replacement for my old Timeslips. This is it.

I use OfficeTime to keep track of my many projects, time and materials. It works great for my Advertising business, keeps me on track and it’s very convenient. I could not do without it!

I’m a book designer with many clients. I’ve been using OfficeTime (Mac) for over a year (following a very dedicated search for and trial of many different time-tracking apps). It has made my work effortless and has even turned billing into a pleasurable activity!! I love that when I am distracted, the app reminds me I’ve been away from the computer and gives me the options of adding the time to the job, transferring the time to a different client, or subtracting it (because I was off making tea). Brilliant, seamless, intuitive — just superb in every respect.
