Living simply clears space for other tasks in your life. Too much clutter can add confusion and make decision-making difficult. Imagine all of the things you could do, if you just narrowed down the options in which you had to choose from? Here are three simple tips to help you live simpler and create success in your life.

1. Minimize the clutter. Take an inventory of your life. What is really important to you? What values do you hold close to you? What are there things in your life that prevent you from doing what’s important or keep you from those values? Simply discard them. Take an inventory of your environment; what are the things cluttering up your life/ Do you have possessions that don’t add any meaning to your life?  Discard them. By minimizing the clutter in your life, you are freeing up available space for the things that are really important to you.

2. Don’t spread yourself too thin. When opportunities come knocking, we are taught to seize the moment and take advantage. We are then left with too many opportunities and often spread ourselves too thin. Why not take a different approach –find one thing that is really important to you and do that one thing really well. Be the best at that one thing, it will make your life simpler and open up more avenues for you be successful in that one area.

3. Eliminate stress. Stress is one of the biggest problems that hinder our success. Evaluate what causes you the most stress in your life and try to find ways to eliminate that stress. Living a stress free life will have positive effects on your health and your life.

By assessing these three areas of your life you can eliminate the obstacles that stand in the way of your success. What are the biggest items cluttering up your life? Are you spreading yourself too thin in life? How will you go about tackling these obstacles to create a simpler life? Please share your thoughts in the comments.
