I read a great blog this weekend, which wasn’t really about time management, but hey, why not.  What if you weren’t tired at ALL this week.  Wouldn’t you get a lot more done?  So here are this week’s time management tips on catching your zzzzzzz’s so you can hit it out of the park!

#1. More Time = More Work?  False. Let’s let go of the big misconception that working more hours means getting more work done.  That’s ONLY true if your work is focused and productive, and if you don’t have a consistent and restful good night’s sleep, then it’s quite likely that you’ll be reading and re-reading the same material – or worse, have to go back and edit and repair work you’d checked OFF your list.

#2.  Have an End of Day Routine. If you have children, you know how important and end of day routine is.  Brush your teeth, get pajamas on, read a story… some of those basic things really never change in our lives. Remember that bedtime isn’t reaching the point where you collapse from working hard and staying up too late, dragging yourself away from some mundane comic on the tube. Bedtime is actually the launching pad for tomorrow!

#3. Purge your bedroom. This was the best tip in that article. No computers, no television, no iPhone or iPad (even if it’s to use our amazing Time Tracker App!).  No balancing your checkbook in bed or discussing something troubling with your sweetheart.  This is not the time to hash it out, work it out or sort it out.  It is a sacred time to peacefully end one day and enter the next.
