Got good code? Great, object oriented, encapsulated, maintainable code? We’re into that. If that’s your thing, you should get in touch. We’re looking for a serious OOP coder. You get to work from home and can work from anywhere but if you live near Bath, UK that can be a bonus for some occasional face to face.
Why Code With Us?
* Your boss is a coder. He knows the value of clean code, object separation and avoiding code debt. Writing robust, easy to maintain code is more important than crunch deadlines. That’s not to say the existing code base is all that. But you’ve got a boss who understands the value of taking longer to re-factor something as you go.
* You have dedicated testers. Want something verified? Send it off and someone else will smoke test it for you. No, that doesn’t mean you can write lazy code but it does mean you can feel confident of the code you’ve written. Unit tests only go so far.
* You get to work on a sexy UI. The desktop is getting a full makeover to be drop, dead gorgeous. Face it, this is what your mother, and in some cases your future employer, sees. Have something satisfying to show.
* We care about UX. We’re constantly refining, enhancing and simplifying OfficeTime.
* People love OfficeTime. We get rave reviews. We’ve got a bit of a cult following. Just by using the app, people increase their billable. It’s time tracking for people who hate time tracking. (I hate time tracking.) You get to work on something that makes a difference to people.
* You get to work on a bit variety of stuff. Heck, you can work on Android one day, Windows the next, Mac and iPhone the day after. If you’re into it, you can work with web back end too or choose not to. Basically, choose what you love and we’ll get someone else for the other bits.
* You’ll work virtually. That means working from home if you want. The Oatmeal summed up the pros and cons of this pretty well.
* Need stuff? We’ll get it for you: books, bigger monitor, whatever. You tell us it makes you productive, you get it. No, a new plasma TV will not make you more productive.
* Still love freelancing? We’re open to considering half time permanent positions allowing freelancing on the side.
* You’re working with a nice tiny company. That means hopefully no office politics. It also means you can directly influence the culture that’s developing.
What you need
* Strong OOP. If you’re uber enough, you can learn the rest.
* Good communication (by email, message, etc.)
* Objective C / iOS development a bonus
* Tell us your favorite colour when contacting us. We like people who read this stuff.
* Android development a bonus
* Xojo (Formally Real Studio) development a bonus
