Millions of web apps were unavailable yesterday. We know what happened: a company called CloudFlare had an engineering Oopsie. (That’s a technical term.) We also know that this kind of thing will happen again.

When your web app went down, what did you do? What if it didn’t come back up again? What if all your data was lost.

We’re happy to report that OfficeTime wasn’t affected.

We’re even happier to report that OfficeTime won’t be affected. Ever.

OfficeTime keeps your data offline sitting on your device. Even if the internet went down, even if our servers and backups were destroyed, you would have all of your time tracking data and a working app to report and record new hours from.

The worst thing that can happen to OfficeTime is cloud sync between devices being unavailable. Even in that worse case, OfficeTime can sync locally without the cloud.

Sometimes there’s advantages of a good, old fashioned app that works directly on your computer or phone.
