One-Off Purchase?
No subscription but you’ll be offered a paid upgrade (with lots of new stuff) every year and a half or so. You won’t be required to update.
Local sync. It’s great for privacy but is more fiddly than cloud sync. The mobile app and the desktop app have to open at the same time to sync.
Your data is private but there’s no backup other than your machine.
The mobile app is charged separately at $7.99 USD.
Personal?
Best if you have a single computer and don’t need budgets or work in a team.
Pro?
Best for multiple computers or if you need budgets. Or if you want to run reports broken down with a lot of detail like totals of each Project, by Category, by Month. Can do team reporting but with more steps than the Pro Subscription version.
Subscription?
It’s got cloud sync which means everything syncs without any fiddling.
Your data is stored both on your device and in the cloud. That means it works without internet (or if we suddenly go bust) and you also have a cloud backup. But like anything cloud, it means your financial data is stored somewhere else.
You never pay for upgrades and get new features as they are made.
Personal?
Best for most people with multiple devices.
Pro?
Best if you work on a team or want to run reports broken down with a lot of detail like totals of each Project, by Category, by Month.
