Shortage There will never be a shortage of people who will freely admit that they do not manage their time well or proclaim that there is not enough time in a day; is there a way that we could possibly move the day from 24 to 28 hour? For most of us, we are used to working late hours to hit deadlines, living with stress, and missing sleep.

Basic shortages lead people to make poor decisions. That’s because, I believe, the brain can only process so much. The problem seems to be the same across all income levels, gender and ethnicities. People are distracted and have a shortage of focus. When you desperately need a drink of water, it’s hard to think about anything else even if you are not in the middle of the dessert. Being short on money, all kinds of budget concerns will block your thinking process. Basic shortages will impair your ability to think with clarity and make correct decisions.

FocusConsider this: It might be true that lack of time isn’t the issue; a lack of focus is. What level will your focus rise if you consciously decided not to receive potentially bothersome emails or text messages before or during an important meeting or a planned family dinner. Your thinking bandwidth for that length of time will be focused on the item that you want to be focused on. Have you ever thought of starting your day checking your calendar instead of going into the pit called e-mail? What if you never again received e-mail on your iPhone?

For better Time Management and productivity but also an enhanced quality of life be clear about your basic shortages and the items that cause you to drop your focus.

Until next time,

Yours truly,
