Okay, we know it’s Tuesday!  We’ve been doing so much to promote our new OfficeTime App that I missed Manic Monday’s time management tips.  But better late than never; here they are.  Simple and doable:

#1. Just Say No. For the rest of this week, do not agree to anything that you can’t actually schedule into your timeline and DO.  If you can’t see it fitting into the next week, just say that you’d love to help, but this isn’t the time.  Or better yet, just say no.  It takes courage to honor the to do list and actually accomplish things, and this is part of getting it under control.

#2. Turn off Your Phone. We talk a lot about only checking email a few times a day, rather than being “on call” 24/7.  It’s the same with the phone.  Turn off the ringer and set aside time to return calls later, when you are focused. It will make the calls go quicker and allow you to stay focused on your tasks without interrupting calls all day.

#3. Manage Information. If you need to read it, consider copying or printing whatever it is and putting it in a “to read” folder for your commute home, or to relax with later in the day.  If you do NOT need to read it, throw it out.  There is simply no way that any of us can absorb the endless rush of info that comes at us nowadays.
