GOOD NEWS UPDATE:

OfficeTime has been updated to be happier and less crashy when asking you survey questions.  Go grab your update from the App Store!

None of the below is really relevant any more but your welcome to read it.

We’re having a bad month.  We’ve had a whole year without any serious errors in OfficeTime for iPhone/iPad and this is the second big Oooops in the last month.

The good news is we’re so terribly mortified and embarrassed, that we’re giving away free copies of OfficeTime or even a donation to the charity of your choice.  The bad news is the workaround for this bug requires a reinstall for some.  Read on to learn more.

Some of you will be presented with a survey question asking how OfficeTime is doing. (Or perhaps a even a kind request to share us with friends.)  You may find that OfficeTime crashes regardless of what you tap on as a response.  I hate crashing. Even worse, next time you make a session, it’ll ask you again and crash again. That’s the worst kind of crashing.

If you’re using the lite version, the workaround is to get the full version.  It will grab all of your data and just start working.  Easy, peasy.  However it’s not fair to make you pay to upgrade so… OfficeTime is on us.  Write to us at support@officetime.net and we’ll buy an upgrade for you.  If you really can’t wait, go ahead and buy the full version yourself, write us, and we’ll issue you a refund (plus you get to keep using it.)

If you’re using the full version already, the workaround is to reinstall OfficeTime on your iPhone/iPad.  Naturally we don’t want to lose any data doing this.  So we’ll sync with the Mac/PC version first.  If you’re already doing this, you’re good to go.  If not, follow the directions below:

Download OfficeTime for Mac or PC from www.officetime.net (if you havn’t already)
Open it up.
Click “Free Trial” if you see the screen asking you to purchase.
Open the iPhone/iPad version. Tap the * button on the home screen.
Tap Desktop Sync>Sync With and Tap your computer.
Wait until you can see all of your projects in the desktop version.  Check your data.
Delete the app from your iPhone/iPad. (Tap and hold on the OfficeTime icon until the X appears and then tap the X.)
Download it again from the App Store. (Just search for OfficeTime and tap the Install button.)
Follow the above steps to sync it to your Mac/PC again.  All of your data should reappear.
You’re good to go.

We’re rushing an update to Apple to fix this as well.
As you’d expect, we are all really, really embarrassed about this. Embarrassed enough that now is a good time to take advantage of us.
If you’re affected by this, I’d like to offer a gift.  How about one of:
  • I’ll refund your purchase of OfficeTime for iPhone/iPad. (Plus you can keep using it.)
  • I’ll buy a copy of OfficeTime for Mac/PC for you.
  • I’ll buy a copy of OfficeTime for Mac/PC or iPhone/iPad for a friend of yours.
  • I’ll donate $7.99 to a charity of your choice.
Yes, that’s right. We’re saving face by being overly nice.  Just write to us at support@officetime.net and we’ll get you sorted out.  Heck, you could even scam us by pretending to be affected. It doesn’t matter. We’ll make it right whatever it takes.
Stephen

Hrmm that was weird, my comment got eaten. Anyway I wanted to say that it is nice to know that somebody else also mentioned this as I had trouble discovering the identical information elsewhere. This was the very first location that told me the answer. Thanks.

I have emailed support two times and given my phone number but the problem I am having connecting my Ipad to my desktop has still not been resolved. Is there a problem with the latest addition of the ipad? I have tried manually connecting it to the computer but the Office Time is still not picking up my computer on the shared high speed wireless connection. PLEASE HELP! I don’t want to just give up on this because this app is the REASON i bought the ipad!
