We’ve been designing OfficeTime for the Apple Watch since the day after it was announced.  And it’s almost here.

We were dearly hoping it would be available on launch day.  Apple was kind enough to invite us down to their super secret test labs to try out OfficeTime on an Apple Watch before it was in the stores. We learned a lot there.  The biggest thing was that while the Apple Watch simulator we’ve been testing on is a great starting place, nothing beats using it in the real world.  We found a number of things that we wanted to change and decided to hold back releasing until we could get these right.

Most of these were around making the transition from your watch to your iPhone and back seamless.  I love starting a timer on my iPhone and stopping it later on my watch.  Or using my iPhone to adjust things a bit and have my watch pick it all up.  And at the end of the week, I pull up my Mac version to see power reports on where my week went.
